     Oregon Mama Diaries

At the suggestion of a friend, (and with a few pointers from her for this less than tech savvy gal) I am starting this blog.

My name is Mary, I am the mother of two boys ages exhausting (age 2) and frustrating (age 3). I am married to a man. And if you are a woman reading this and are married saying you are married to a man says a lot.

There are those days when you look at them and think,
"Oh my gosh, he's a twelve-year-old." Followed quickly by, "He's a man. He's not like me. But oddly enough we are both humans. He's a man." Being married to a man means being married to someone who doesn't pick their clothes up off the floor but notices when you pick them up because you have to vacuum the floor they are covering, and appreciates it. Being married to a man means they enjoy eating the dinner you make but sigh and say with a sad tone, "Okay" when you ask them to do the dishes, because they wanted to play pool on the phone. Being married to a man means listening in glee as he tries to watch the kids AND do his own project. You, of course, are hiding in the closet or behind a door laughing quietly because it feels live victory!
"YES!" you think "Now you know why I look like I escaped from the loony bin some days and ask you, 'So the guys at work, they never yell, 'Come wipe me!'? Amazing. You are so lucky your co-workers can wipe themselves."
Yes, so I am married to a man. In all fairness though it also means, I get to be with my best friend, we get to share a million private jokes, and it means that when I feel sad he's there. It means I have a protector, and that I have someone I accept in my life and it means that I am accepted. Yes, I am married to a man.

I hope this blog will be just like it says, Oregon Mama Diaries. So many areas of my life to chronicle from recipes, parenting, sex, friendships, quotes and beauty. And now one place to do it. I feel like a commercial now.  I wasn't so sure about this blogging thing but I think it will be a good fit....
